This season IS currently available for purchase from Strat-O-Matic: 2006 Baseball Cards and Additional Players
- A great country: 83-win Cardinals win World Series
- Tigers revive, win AL pennant … Ryan Howard (58 HR), Joe Mauer (.347)
- 189 additional players, including “total cards”
Loser of 300 games the past three seasons, Detroit was the feel-good story of 2006 by winning the AL pennant for the first time in 22 years. The fun ended in the World Series against the Cardinals, a team that barely made the playoffs, but had Albert Pujols (.331-49-137). Can’t get enough? Here’s more.
The Additional Players include the popular “total cards” that show the combined statistics for players traded between leagues in mid-season. In 2006, there are 65 total cards, including those for Bobby Abreu, Jamie Moyer and Bob Wickman. Other Additional Players include men with limited time, but may have had the at-bats or starting pitching assignments you want for a detailed season replay.
